What Do Yhese Things Really Mean By Jeffrey Solochek
They tell you that in order for you to receive things in abundance that you must take responsibility for everything in your past. Does this mean I should take the responsibility for my parents divorce when I was 10 years old? Situations like this have always made it impossible to take responsibility the correct way. I would always think to myself "how can I, or why should I take responsibility for my parents divorce" and there has been a lot of other things that affected my life like this.
Is it possible for me to take responsibility for things like this in my life? No, but rather than go with my first reaction to my parents divorce I could have thought things out and reacted another way. We always have a choice. When my parents first told me they were getting a divorce I just reacted with my first thoughts. Had I chosen to think about things and then taken an alternate path then my life would be much better today. I accept responsibility for my thoughts and the actions I took.
The above also goes for a car accident I was in when I was 12. I was the passenger not the driver. I chose the path I took as a result of the car accident. We are all presented with choices every day of our lives. Usually we think that the only choice is between right and wrong but there are many more. They are not saying we have to take responsibility for what happened only for the decisions we made as a result,
AA, NA, and the law of attraction all say that we need to take responsibility for our past in order for us to receive what is good. This has always been the hardest thing for me to grasp. We all need to stop concentrating so much on our past so that we can move forward in a positive direction. I have so often blamed my parents divorce for the reason certain things don't work out for me. I am constantly repeating mistakes and hurting my sons, my wife, and all of my immediate family. Not taking responsibility for my past has caused a lot of depression in my life.
The 4th of July, 2008 is the day when I finally realized what has to be done in order to move forward in life and have better results. I now take responsibility for everything in my past. Not for the events but for the way I reacted to each event. From now on I will not dwell on the past but instead have faith that tomorrow will be better. I will also than the man upstairs for what I have and always remain positive. Always rememberafter an event happens not to just react on impulse. Instead take a step back, do some deep breathing, and after a day or so has gone by we can then choose the action that will deliver the best results.
Look at the prosperous people of today, they are reacting other than the way we have been reacting in the past. These people are no different than us. We all have the same number of bones in our body and the same organs. The only difference is the paths that these people chose to follow. We can choose to do the same ourselves by just taking responsibility for our past and having a positive outlook on the future.
