Isass.exe errors can be serious. lsass.exe is actually the Local Security Authorization Server, and it is responsible for the verification of the user logon validity for any attempt to log on to your computer. This process deals with login policies and local security on your system. This program is needed for applications which are essential to your computer, and disabling it may cause system damage or even failure. There is a worm that has a name which is identical, except the first letter is a lower case i instead of an l, and this can confuse your system into thinking the virus is a valid program.
