You discontinue your search and look for another site that gives you the same free shout. You register here and start searching. You browse for a few days after which you get intimation that this was just a trial period for you to test their services.
This is the story with practically every free online dating service. So you wonder whether these free online dating service providers are really free. The justification given by these sites for being free but not entirely is as follows.

The so called popular sites state that they have a larger number of members compared to the free sites and have more choices. However, you will notice that the free sites do have less members but that may be due to less or no publicity of the sites.

The paid sites argue that they have a larger database which has more choices for hunting prospective dates which the free sites do not have. But this could be merely a geographical problem. The next argument is that the paid sites pay full attention to safeguard your interests and are extremely safe to use. But this is a point which holds no truth for, the free sites could also guarantee your safety if they had the correct implementation of the procedure. It is the decision of the provider and maintenance of the site that helps you to be safe.
Revenue generator
The paid sites have more members than the free sites thus resulting in more advertisements culminating in more publicity whereas the free sites have comparatively lesser members and lesser advertisements. Moreover the sites where you pay for their services have several avenues of generating income.
There are of course some free online dating services which render free service in its true meaning. They offer you the same service and also have a large database as the paid sites. The only thing is that you will have to put in a little effort to find it.
