3 Factors To Consider When Choosing A Tattoo Design

3 Factors To Consider When Choosing A Tattoo Design

It's not easy finding the perfect tattoo design because you know that the tattoo you choose will stay with you for the rest of your life. If you make a bad choice then you face years of unhappiness with the only other option to remove it completely, which can be quite painful.

With that in mind, there are three important factors to consider when choosing a tattoo design.

Firstly you should ideally choose a tattoo that is a symbol of your personality or character. I always think that if you do decide to have a tattoo, then you should choose one that has some kind of significance or meaning, and is relevant to you. This is because a personality-based tattoo will always be more satisfactory in the long run than a tattoo chosen on impulse, which nearly always leads to regret later on in life.

The second factor is that of location and relevance. In other words whichever tattoo design you choose, it should be ideally suited to the part of the body it will be located. Certain tattoos and specific designs look better on certain parts of the body so you not only need to choose a good design, but you also need to make sure it won't look out of place.

The prominence of the tattoo is also important. It's a sad fact of life that society make judgements about people who have tattoos so you may want to consider how your tattoo will be perceived by other people if it is in a prominent location (that's if you care about what other people think of you of course).

The final factor to consider is that of timelessness. If you're going to get a permanent tattoo then you need to choose one that you will be happy with for the rest of your life. After all a tattoo design that looks cool when you're young may look rather silly when you're an old aged pensioner. Similarly it's not always a wise decision to include names of girlfriends or wives on tattoos due to the high break up rates in modern society.

So to sum up this article, you should basically look for tattoos that have kind of meaning to you based on your personality or personal interests or hobbies even, so it at least has some significance to you, even if you fall out of love with it in future years. You should also consider that it is appropriate and well suited for the part of your body where you will have the tattoo done, and finally you should look for timeless designs that will not look out of place in future years.
