Nintendo Wii - Extra Goodies to Consider

Nintendo is an industry leader when it comes to accessories and game controllers and of course consoles. The Nintendo Wii game console comes packaged with Wii Sports, a fun and very popular game. However, to really enjoy the wii console experience to the fullest, here are but a few goodies you might want to consider picking up for yourself:

Extra set of controllers;
Nintendo Wii comes packaged with a two-in-one controller,the nunchuk and a Wiimote. Consider purchasing an extra nunchuk for around $20 and maybe another Wiimote for about $40 to maximize your game experience. The extra controllers will come in handy for two-player games like boxing or tennis. Don’t worry, The Wii can handle four separate controllers at once.

Game Cube memory cards;
Nintendo wii backward compatibility with game cube is a great money saving feature, if already own game cube games.
However, if you plan to save any of your game cube games while using the wii, you will need to use your game cube memory cards. Unfortunately, you can’t save game cube games on the wii flash memory. Older Game Cube memory cards that you probably already have will work, but if you don't have any, be prepared to shell out about $25 for each new card.

Game Cube controllers;
Nintendo Wii, as previously mentioned, has backward compatibility in that it can play GameCube games. However, you will need a Game Cube controller to play the game. Again, if you have older game cube controllers they will work just fine. New game cube controllers cost about $25 a pop. For a couple bucks more, you can get a wireless Nintendo Wave Bird controller to play the games.
SD Card;
Almost everyone saves games, so get yourself more space with a new SD card. SD cards are available anywhere. Although you can buy one from Nintendo if you so desire. A good size to get is a 1GB card, (about $25 to $30 ),it has plenty of space, plus you can always erase the card and re-use it.

Batteries;
Like most electronic devices, the controllers tend to use batteries fairly regularly. To save you’re self from buying new batteries constantly, and from running out of “juice” in the middle of an epic battle. Buy rechargeable NiMH batteries and a battery charger, in the long run you’ll save a bundle, and will always have fresh batteries ready to go.

Wii Points;
Wii points are one of the draws of the Wii Virtual Console. The Wii Points are good to have if you plan to buy Nintendo's classic games, yes; they are backward compatible as well. The Wii Points function like real currency. 100 wii points equals 1 dollar. Buy the points via Nintendo's prepaid cards or from its online store. You can also get wii points free online by taking surveys and as promotional give a-way’s by individual companies.
