Extreme Nike Dunks and Obsession for Nike Dunk SB

It appears to be a never ending obsession for all Nike Dunks, why just Nike Dunk SB. And the styles they are designed with are not far behind. There is a strange Nike Dunk SB having laces in all too dissimilar colors but what amazed me was there were two pairs of them! They had more in stock to shock me, there were big pictures of Jesus Christ on the tongues and the famous swoosh was in two tone colors: white and baby blue. It was a wonderful design so that the blue will show when you skate. Smaller details like the extra padding for toes and maps of London on the insoles didn’t interest me any bit.
A bizarre connection I saw a while ago existing between Myspace layouts and Nike Dunks sort of humiliated me. There was an online store dealing with Nike Dunks web and Myspace layouts which are what got me thinking about my sneaker knowledge. No doubt Nike Dunk SB is an attractive line of shoes for skateboarders as well as casual wearers like me but for the sneaker junkies every new Nike Dunk SB release offers an occasion to celebrate. Probably this is why they are there where they are amongst the family of Dunk shoes.
There is always a shadow under the light and counterfeiting Nike Dunk SB shoes is not external to this. I saw a fake SB called as “What the Dunk” but oddly it was the insoles only that had the logos. Occasionally, though, you may come across an odd custom Nike Dunks exclusively designed for sports like running race, long jumps & high jumps, marathon etc. Another appealing special edition sneaker is is Piazza SB Dunk, the one named after the legendary Dutch skater, Wieger Van Wageningen.
The rarest of rare Nike Dunk SB I have seen is “for love or money” or FLOM. However, the asking price for the piece was easily crossing $9,000! Beware; this is also the darling of fake masters who sell counterfeits as “variants” to cover-up for shortfalls.
Dunks are also available in countless designs, colors and variants like premium, Dunk Lo, HI, CL, SB Jordunks, Notebook dunks etc. You may also find a Dunk in a bedecked box. Occasions like Christmas and Valentine's Day are when Nike usually releases special editions. Sometimes the design processes with which Dunks are made lend their name, for example, when British tweed fabric is used, Dunks are named Harris Tweed Dunks, for laser-engraved artwork the name would be Laser Dunks, and you always have the famous Inside Out Dunks.
Listing all releases of Nike Dunk SB and special editions isn’t a small task given the legacy of two decades nor is it possible to memorize them all. I am neither crazy of Nike Dunks nor am I going to spend thousands of dollars recklessly on sneakers. I am happy with the Nike Dunks Pigeon I bought years ago. I am happy that my knowledge of Nike Dunks is enough to at least prevent me from succumbing to fakes.
