How can I get my boyfriend back if he is ignoring me? Is it possible? Maybe I should just let go of the relationship and move on?
If you are having the question mentioned above, most probably, you have just broken up. Naturally, you are anxious about getting your boyfriend back. But you have to understand that getting your boyfriend back involve various stages. More haste means less speed. If you try to push him too hard, it may worsen the situation instead of helping you.
Perhaps, the first thing you should do now is to let him go. Don't cling on to him. I know it may be very difficult for you to do that, but you just have to do it. Here is the reason why:
Nobody likes to be restricted by someone else. The more you try to restrict someone, the more the person wants to get free from you. Maybe you want to put yourself in this situation. Imagine someone is trying to take away your freedom and restrict where you can go, will you be happy? Will you resent that person? Will you want to run away as soon as possible?
So, you don't want to cling on to him as he may start to see you as someone who is trying to take away his freedom.
The next reason why you don't want to cling on to him is because you do not want to be perceived as someone who is desperate and needy. It is only natural that people want to run away from other desperate people. So, you do not want to do that as it may drive your boyfriend further and further away.
Remember, people want what they do not have. The harder it is to get something, the more you will want it. Similarly, if it is easy for you to get something, you will not want it as much anymore.
So you do not want your boyfriend to have the impression that you are easy to get. Therefore, you do not want to cling on to him. You also do not want to do things that make him perceive you as desperate.
What you should do in the first phase of breaking up is to give yourself at least one month to heal any pain that you have. The only person who you have control over is yourself. You can't force him to come back to you. But you can always make yourself more attractive to get your ex back.
