A connection to the internet with out protection is like leaving your front door wide open in the middle of town with a note pinned to the door saying "everyone welcome".All the terms associated with the computer like virus,firewalls,trojans,adware,worms etc will be kept at bay with the anti- virus software that came with the computer isn't always true.
The first thing you need is a firewall, this is the first step to protecting your computer,this stops hackers and bad programmes getting through although nothing is 100% safe from the most determined attack,so a good anti-virus is essential to look out for any that do get passed.
Something which can get still through though is spyware , this could be attached to emails,music files,games,etc and allows people to see what you are doing,breaching your security in regards to passwords ,financial sites and bank details.the only way to stop this problem is to have a dedicated programme that protects against this,detecting and removing them.
The good thing about anti spyware programmes is that it seals the things that firewalls and and other security programes miss,although with the cleverness of hackers nothing is complety 100% safe, and a very determined person could still breach this ,but may be tempted to go elsewhere to a easier target,
Computers are the thing of the present let alone future and are being used by a large % of the population for everything from business to personal and financial administration,therefore ,taking measures to stop infiltration is a must and programmes are very affordable and easy to use ,GET THEM NOW!!
