Bed Bugs Infestation Advice and Tips

So you wake up one morning to find an infestation of bed bugs in your house. You and everyone would like to know and as a matter of urgency, how do I kill these bed bugs?. Not a lot of people know how to eliminate these due to the fact that you just don't expect it to happen to you. About 50 years ago there used to be a national use of DDT spray which eliminated all forms of bed bugs. Nowadays a common gel is used to eliminate creatures which just does not work as well as it should.

Symptoms of bed bug Infestation

You probably will not notice that you have bed bugs until you actually get bitten, and these sort of bugs can hide in little cracks and breed more bugs, and only come out at night time. The bites are mostly painless as the bug's saliva contains an anaesthetic which numbs the pain. But you will notice an itchy and inflamed area that has been bitten.

Are they Dangerous?

The health effects that bed bugs have on humans can range from anxiety to insomnia. Although they are not life threatening diseases it is said that the bites can cause irritation that could be very extreme. It is also said that bed bugs may spread the hepatitis B virus.

How to I find them?

Well it may be quite hard to spot them without an untrained eye, therefore you should get a local expert in, who will have to take apart the bed and use tools to scan for bed bugs and maybe look for left over's from the bugs which are sort of a brown colour, they may also shed there skin a bit like a snake. If the bed bugs have infested all the way into the mattress it would be very hard to treat and eliminate them all, the best thing in my opinion would be to buy a new mattress altogether, not forgetting that you will have to disinfect the whole surroundings so they do not come back onto your new mattress. The most common places to look for bed bugs would be obviously on the bed, then behind the headboards, cracks in the wood picture frames, televisions and clothes. As you see bed bugs can almost get anywhere and hibernate for a long time so be sure to check the whole building, although it may take several hours it will be well worth it.
