Castro Marim The New Tourist Destination

The day that Vila Real de Santo Antonio was born, Castro Marims council lost his space in the Portuguese national scenery, but even so and for having a big patrimonial memory, Castro Marim is a municipal district with a lot of history to be told.
The place with more tourist appeal are Castro Marims Castle, Fort of S. Sebastiao, Small chapel of Santo Antonio, Reserves of Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo Antonio, Church of Nossa Senhora dos Martires, Church of the Divine Espirito Santo, Church of Marias Immaculate Heart, besides the dams of Odeleite and of the Beliche and the Viewpoint of Rossio. Other points are the churches of Santo Antonio and of Sao Sebastiao.
The border with Spain is also one of the attractive of the council that has a historical past witch attracts many visitors who choose Algarve to know more on the beginning of the portuguese nation.
In spite of that, the beaches are also very valued in that area and Castro Marim has the beaches Green, Cabeco-Retur and Alagoa that are the connection between the earth and the paradise.

Altura is today the countless Portuguese and foreign visitors tourist destiny that seeks Algarve to pass unforgettable moments of leisure and amusement. Nowadays, the place has enormous tourist development of Castro Marims council.
The town of Altura was created officially on June 11, 1993, this is the most youth freguesia of the council, not only for being created on that year, but, also, for being the one that concentrates the largest number of young people.

Altura is part of the whole coast of Castro Marim, the freguesias has the beaches of Altura (Alagoa), Green Beach, Cabeco (Retur) and Adam and Eva. Altura keeps some of the best restaurants of Algarve, where the fish, the shellfishes and the candies prevail.
If you desire to know a little of the cookery of the area, the visitors can taste the good food of Algarve in places as the Barbecue grill Good Barbecue, Pizzeria Beautiful Pizza, Beautiful Pizzeria and Restaurant Tasca do Ze, but if you want diversion, in Altura it is possible to find Augustos Bar, Bar Barometro, Piratas Bar and Tropical, besides other bars with a lot of quality and where you can prove the best of the tradition of the area with a lot of amusement.
The Church of Marias Immaculate Heart is the point-key of the religious inclination in Altura. And to remind this saint, in the end of June, they realize the Parties of Marias Immaculate Heart, that translates himself in a touching procession, expression of the faith of a people.
In the extent of that party, it also happen the fair of Craftmanship of Altura, where, for three days, the artisans create, live, examples of popular art.
The seventh art takes place in the Cine-Estudio Alagoa Praia, in the Street of Alagoa, where you can watch some very good movies.
