The Faculty of Education admits transfer students, current U of L undergrad students, after-degree applicants and students of aboriginal descent to the B.Ed.

Higher education institutions are given the academic freedom to establish or not privileges for entrants having followed advanced training at lyceums or gymnasiums or for entrants having finished school with excellent marks. Special ability requirements are set for artistic studies, physical education and architectural preservation studies.

Higher general education might be contrasted with higher vocational education, which concentrate on both practice and theory . A university is an institution of higher education and research , which grants academic degrees ; including Bachelor's degrees , Master's degrees and doctorates in a variety of subjects.
