Tips To Protecting Our Children From Molesters By Rachel Yoshida
Have you ever heard someone say that you can watch a child all day long and nothing happen, but as soon as you look away that is the very moment that they will fall and get hurt? That really does seem to be the truth of the matter.
Parents can be really conscious of protecting their children from accidents when they are playing because they love them and can not stand the thought of them being hurt. After all this loving protection, then they can turn around and do some of the dumbest things that can endanger a child even more.
Protecting our children from sexual predators has never been as serious a matter as it seems to be today. When are we as a society going to stand up and refuse to coddle these predators anymore? Why is it that a person that has already been arrested for molesting a child is ever allowed out in public again? Why do we not have an island some where to put them on so the only victims they can endanger are themselves? Until some very serious consequences come about for theses perverts, our children will always be in jeopardy and it is up to parents to ever be on the look out for them.
Things are not the same now as they were fifty years ago. We can not allow out kids to go outside and play for hours anymore without checking on them at all and know that they will come safely back inside before it is dark. It is not safe to allow your children to go unsupervised almost anywhere. It might sound over the top to be so paranoid, but just ask any one of the parents who has lost a child to kidnapping or had one molested if any amount of precaution is too much.
We do not have to take protection to extreme, but there are things that should be habitual as far as protecting a child goes. Do not leave you children in a car unattended, even for a few minutes. Keep a close eye on them at parks or other places of recreation. Never let them go alone to these places because it is not safe anymore.
Know your babysitter well and beware of any adults that are over friendly to your child or someone that volunteers too often to help with your children especially if it allows them to be alone with them at all. Molesting or kidnapping can be done and over in a few minutes or less and once the damage is done it is forever.
