The Role of Designers and Their Team By Phoenix Delray
Fashion clothing designers are experts at cutting and tailoring expensive fabrics into separate pieces of cloth that are sewn together into the most beautiful pieces of clothing. It requires great skill on the part of the fashion design team when constructing various patterns that will flatter the body and figure of a man or woman. Being careful and demonstrating a strong attention to detail is something that is mandatory in the fashion design industry. Imagine what would happen if a designer was working with the finest piece of silk in the world and made the wrong cut because they were not paying attention; it would be tragic and a huge financial loss for them.
Successful clothing designers only hire the most competent, knowledgeable and experienced people to be part of their design team. Each person must bring their own element of creativity to everything that they do and consistently exceed expectations. Remember, these staff members are producing pieces of clothing that are going to appear to the public and be representative of the name of the fashion designer. Although it is true that the designer whose name is on the label has the first and final say of what gets made and what is released to the public, the design team plays a huge role in the entire process as well.
Putting together designer clothing patterns is not unlike figuring out an intricate puzzle; it takes time and precision. A highly skilled fashion designer takes months or even sometimes years to sew together pieces of fabric to create the perfect piece of designer clothing. This is why the designers who are the best in the business hire an expertly trained team of designers to help them with their masterpieces. A design team can spend months just preparing to make the perfect mens suit for the designer label. Many times the team will use cheaper fabrics to practice on before they take any scissors or tailoring tools to more expensive fabrics like silk or velvet. This allows the designer to check their work and be sure that they are doing everything perfectly.
Sometimes a vision may seem better in the head of the designer and then when they see it actualized, it was not as good as they had originally thought. So, by using a cheaper fabric to practice on, it allows them to create perfection and nothing less. Designer clothes are worth the price tag because you can rest assured that you are only getting the highest quality with the greatest amount of care put into it.
