Clamps are used for the purpose of holding two objects very tightly; infact clamps are today widely used not just for holding the materials but it is also used for gluing the materials such as plastic, paper or wood. Paper clamps are used for the purpose of holding the documents together. Paper clips are nothing but paper clamps. These paper clamps are made up of steel wire or plastic. Paper clamps have been very popular and are widely used by students as well as professional to organize their documents. The first paper clip was patented in the year 1867 and later on many paper clips such as plastic paper clips were patented. Though no marketing efforts were made to promote the clips but slowly and steadily it captured the market. These clamps are available in different shapes, sizes and colors. These paper clamps are available in different colors like red, blue, green, silver etc and are available in rectangular shape, heart shape, square shape and circular shape. Bankers clasps is one of the forms of the paper clamps which comes in two sizes. The size of the junior is 3 1/16" and regular 5 3/8" in size. Paper clamps available are also powder coated and nickel plated; they are available in medium, small and jumbo sizes. These paper clamps have a very good grip and the documents do not slid from them. These clamps are also made up of plastics and some are magnetic also. These paper clamps are generally made up of steel wire and the added advantage is that these paper clamps can also be recycled. The paper clamps are today not only used for holding the documents together but it is also used as bookmarks and for decorative purposes. Moreover it can also be used for the purpose of color coding and also for the signaling and flagging purpose.
