Picnic Tables Won’t Disappoint

Picnic Tables Won’t Disappoint

Just as spring brings new blossoms to our gardens, each year, it also produces another huge crop of brand new gardeners. Like everyone else, they’re excited about creating a gorgeous display of flowers that they can enjoy while relaxing on their patios, or show off to guests as they sit around their picnic tables. The only problem is that many novices make little mistakes that can add up to big disappointments. There are so many reasons why things go wrong when someone is just starting to garden. One way to get a fix on things is to think of plants as being similar to people. Like us, they need water, air, food, and light. Because the soil provides nourishment, it must contain the RDA of vitamins and minerals for the plant. Poor soil means a poor diet, which will keep flowers from flourishing.Another thing to remember is that, in the same way that we can’t (or shouldn’t) stuff ourselves, plants need portion control. This goes for water as well as food. In fact, one of the most common errors that beginning gardeners make is over-watering. Before you even put in one plant, you should decide whether you’re going to water it by hand or by using sprinklers or an irrigation system.Generally, you should water your plants when you first put them into the ground; then maintain consistent moisture in the soil around them for a couple of weeks afterward. Make sure that it is not saturated (it should crumble in your hands, but not be dripping). The ideal situation is to keep the soil moist down to about an inch below the surface.Even if you’re putting in drought-tolerant perennials, which can go for long periods with very little water, they should initially be watered regularly. While they will eventually be able to survive in the desert, it takes them a couple of years to become established. One of the worst things about watering too much is that the effect that it has on the plants can confuse an inexperienced gardener. It often causes them to turn yellow (the plants, not the gardeners), which can make them look thirsty. So, they get watered again, and before long, they die. When a plant does not have enough water, it becomes dry and begins to wilt.A good way to make it easy on yourself is to put plants with similar watering requirements into groups, so that you can do all of your watering at once. On the other hand, if you use drought-tolerant plants, you won’t have to do much watering at all after they’re established, and you’ll still have a spectacular, low-maintenance garden. If you really want to make your life simple, get a beautiful, low-maintenance picnic table from AllPicnicTables.com.
