Many people have items of considerable value to them. So, it is perfectly natural to be concerned about the security of these valuables.
Popular means of protection and security in homes are keeping pet dogs on the premises or even a security guard, for higher financial classes.
Others use diversion safes, ordinary items turned into unsuspecting safes, because although thieves normally look for valuables in places like cupboards, shelves, drawers, jewelry boxes, etc., they would never find out if you keep your valuables kept in ordinary places like inside a book, or a jar. Diversion safes are the new trend in home security.
Secret Stash Safes
Another similar safety measure is to use secret stash safes, seen in James Bond and other spy shows where a pen, shoe or other household or personal item may secretly be an instant holder of a slim key to unlock a vault. In this type of safe one can hide the belongings in places or containers that otherwise look very ordinary.
By using secret stash safes, the possessions are right under the thieves nose but he cannot recognize them. Take an old glass Pepsi bottle or contemporary Coke can, for example. Place some of your delicate earrings or rings in the bottle or can and leave it on the table.
Since neither item is transparent, your valuables will not be seen. A thief may mistaken the bottle or can as useless trash and not bother to open them and see inside. So these can be your secret stash safes.
Hidden Diversion Safes
Another similar safety tool is the hidden diversion safe. Since burglars usually look for portable items because they do not want to be in the house for too long, they look for items that they can easily pick up and carry out. However, with hidden diversion safes like ordinary candy jars filled with valuables instead of sugary treats, he (or she) will not waste time in looking inside your childrens candy jar.
