Fish Markets By Amber Singleton
Fish markets are marketplaces used for the sale and trade of fish and other kinds of seafood. There are many fish markets around the world. They are more commonly found in large metropolitan cities or seaside towns and cities.
Some fish markets sale only to individual customers, some sale only to retail fish buyers, and some sale to both. Historically, fish markets were located only in seaside towns. This was because of how easily and fast fish and seafood could spoil if not properly refrigerated.
More recently, beginning in the 19th and 20th centuries, fish markets began to appear further away from the sea. Faster transportation methods and new, better-working cooling systems were being created during this time. These advances helped to make fish markets a more common siting in non-port towns and cities.
Today, there are fish markets in New York City, London, Madrid, and Tokyo – to name a few.
New York City's is called the Fulton Fish Market. Fulton was first established in 1822 and sold various foodstuffs and produce. In 2005, the market was relocated near the Brooklyn Bridge, along the East River waterfront. While it was still at it's original site, the market was the most important wholesale east coast fish market in the United States.
During most of the 20th century, this fish market was associated with many of New York City's mafia families. In 2001, the market began to be regulated by the city's Business Integrity Commission in an effort to thwart a continuance of the market's history of organized crime.
The main fish market in Tokyo is the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market. This market is more commonly known as the Tsukiji Fish Market. It is the largest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world, as well as one of the biggest wholesale food markets of any kind.
The market is located in central Tokyo and is one of the major tourist attractions. In fact, very few Japanese regularly visit the market. The market was established by General Tokugawa Ieyasu, who ruled the area in the 1600s. It was originally created for the castle that was located nearby. Today, the market is not in its original location but can be found by many who are looking for it.
The second largest fish market in the world is the Mercamadrid, which is located in Madrid, Spain. The third largest fish market is in Australia. This one is known as the Sydney Fish Market, which is, naturally, located in Sydney.
As well as serving as resources to get fresh fish and seafood, many fish markets around the world are also great money makers as they are tourist attractions for visitors who have never been to the cities.

Unlike some of the best fishing lures, Magnabait works by repeating several different signals to attract fish, such as bass, without scaring them away. It then magnifies its effect by combining the signals. These signals capture the attention of fish and helps fishers catch fish faster and more efficiently. from http://www.FreeArticlesAndContent.com
