Experience The Thrill Of A Pilot With A Model Aero Plane

Did you ever wonder, how exciting it is to be in charge of a craft way up in the sky? Have you ever felt green with envy looking at a plane leaving behind a trail of shimmering silver dust in the sky, because you are not its pilot? Have you ever wondered, how it must feel to be in charge of flying a plane? If the answer to any of the above questions is 'YES' and you have yet not done anything about it, let me be the first to introduce you to the wonderful world of MODEL AERO PLANES.

The sport of flying planes has been around for decades. Most of the cities around the globe have Model Airplane Flying groups, where people get together and fly their own planes themselves and many even have competitions, to see who's the ACE! Imagine the excitement in performing maneuvers such as 'THE PENDULUM', '3-D', 'LOOP' and many, many more. It is fun to watch all these with your friends and peers. If people, who like living on the edge, find all this boring, then they might consider the 'COMBAT' mode, where competitions are held, wherein streamers are tied to the planes and the pilot has to cut the opponent's streamer using the propellers, tail or wings.

The model planes handle just like their mammoth counterparts and flying them is a real fun.

The person controlling the plane feels the same amount of nervousness at the time of take-off , as a person sitting in a commercial plane flying from Mumbai to New York.

Model airplanes are mechanical replicas of real planes, which are controlled from the ground, using a remote control. They come in various sizes and models, varying right from replicas of the first plane ever invented to even futuristic space craft type models. The designs are restricted only by the imagination of the creator They function just like other remote controlled planes, but use radio waves. These planes may be gas, electric or jet powered and are usually made from Balsa wood, plywood and even composite fiber. The power of the engine may vary from 15cc to 55cc. The propellers are usually made up of aluminum or at times of composite fiber. The latest variants even have computer chips, which vastly increase the handling quality of the plane.

To start flying, you would have to buy a 'Training plane' and learn the basics through trial and error method. These planes are generally slow, but sturdy. These qualities help in teaching the rookie the finer nuances of handling a model plane and help the accidental crashes, which most beginners will definitely have. One must keep in mind that learning to fly a model airplane is the toughest part in model airplanes handling. To be a successful model airplane pilot, you would need to practice and practice more till you are confident. As you learn the ropes, you could go in for a quicker and sleeker model, which is quick to take off and banks sharply on turns.

Most hobby stores have model airplanes and airplane kits. Go get yours today and take to the open skies.
