Electric RC Planes For The Uninitiated

Flying RC planes is always fun especially for a novice. If you are uninitiated into the world of electric planes, there are certain aspects of the hobby, you should know. First, not all electric planes are suitable for you and so it's important to know all about the RC model planes.

There are various types of Electric RC model planes, but the ones, which a beginner can be used, are the park flyers and trainers. However, if you want to learn fast, how to fly, then you should get the trainers, which are meant for this purpose, just as the name suggest. But, while buying a trainer, you should keep in mind several factors. First, your trainer should be easily repairable. A novice is likely to damage their electric planes in the course of learning. It's important to buy a model with fewer parts, which can be fixed easily. You should also choose a plane, whose parts are easily available to avoid a situation, where you would have to dump your new plane in the garage, just because its parts are not available in the stores. You should also check for an electric RC plane, which is stable enough while in flight, to make it easy for you to control. It's advisable to ask those who have used them, as to which models are stable enough.

Electric RC planes have varying control setup. Some have very basic controls; others have primary controls that allow you to have full rudder, throttle and elevator control. Some trainers have advanced setup with more options and inputs. But, if you are a beginner, primary control planes are the best for you. You should also look out for electric RC planes, which have essential accessories and equipments like battery charger, batteries, radio device and so on.

Electric RC planes don't always come fully assembled. They come as ready to fly, almost ready to fly and kits. There are several electric airplanes available in the market today. Some of the most popular electric RC airplanes include, GWS Zero Fighter ARF Park Flyer, Cessna 182 Scale RTF 4CH Electric Airplane, Parkzone J3 Piper Cub, Firebird XL, Sky Angel RTF Electric 2Ch RC Crash Proof Plane, Hobby Zone Super Cub RTF Electric, RC Sonic Saber 2 RTR 2CH Electric Airplane and Begin-Air 4 Channel RTF Electric RC AirPlane

A major and important component of electric RC planes are the power section. Good and reliable source of power will be required both on the plane and on the radio control and therefore you should get good and reliable batteries and chargers. There are three main types of batteries one can use in the model planes. These types are Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH), Nikel-cadmium (NiCAD), and the latest one, Lithium Poly cells. While buying chargers, get the ones that take a short time to charge your batteries, though they are costlier than the normal chargers.
