Virtual Assistants: How to Grow Your Business by Working with Other VAs

As a virtual assistant, you know how much effect you have on your clients' businesses. As a business owner, you know that you cannot possibly complete all of your tasks on your own.

If you want to grow your virtual assistant business, you should consider working with another VA. In brick and mortar businesses, it is common for several people in the same profession to share the same office. Doctors, dentists, lawyers and others often do this.

While this helps them lower their overhead, it also allows them to brainstorm and bounce ideas off of each other. As a virtual assistant, it can be a bit lonely working from home. Reaching out to other VAs will give you the same effect of water cooler talk, even if it is done through instant messaging or email.

Working with other VAs will allow you to share clients. You may have chosen to specialize in general VA services yet have a client who needs some specialized marketing or graphic design work done.

By creating relationships with VAs who specialize in those fields, you can refer this work to them. They can repay the favor and refer a client to you when one of their clients request more general work.

Establishing a relationship with a more experienced VA can be a very beneficial. This VA can serve as a mentor and advise you on situations that will surely come up as your business grows.

Hiring a virtual assistant of your own will help you complete your work faster and more efficiently. This may sound like an oxymoron of sorts, but it makes a lot of sense. After all, a surgeon would not perform their own appendectomy. They would go to a trusted colleague and have them perform the surgery.

Every business owner has tasks that they do not enjoy performing. Hiring a virtual assistant to take over these tasks can save you a lot of time and money. Instead of letting them sit around while you procrastinate on performing them, you can hire a virtual assistant to get them out of the way for you.

As a business owner, you will also need to complete the same marketing efforts as any other business owner. If you find yourself with a bustling clientele, you may not have the time to submit press releases, distribute content, perform keyword research and so forth. Hiring a VA who specializes in marketing will allow you to grow your business and focus on your clients at the same time.

Whether it is a simple brainstorming session or taking on a full time VA as an employee, working with another virtual assistant will help you grow your own virtual business much farther than you thought possible.
