When a person has metabolic syndrome, as well as medical disorder, the risk of having diabetes and cardiovascular diseases will be increased. As a matter of fact, a lot of people are suffering from such syndrome. This is especially true in some developed countries due to the fact that the large number of people who are overweight.

You may want to know the symptoms of metabolic syndrome. The most obvious symptom is having a lot of fat around the waist. Yes you will have the symptom if you have a lot of belly fat! Besides, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels are also symptoms of metabolic syndrome.

So the question here is: How can you lower the risk of having metabolic syndrome? According to a recent research published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, regular cardio exercises can greatly help in order to lower the risk of developing the syndrome. You can do the exercises easily. You can just perform brisk walking for about 30 minutes everyday. And this will certainly help. This is in fact a good way to make your stay away from diabetes or other heart problems. If you want to lower the risk of developing metabolic syndrome, be sure to start exercising everyday!

Due to the genetic make-up, some people may be predisposed to have such syndrome. However, researches show that even in this case, moderate cardio exercises can help to lower the risk. Of cause these people should also perform the exercises regularly. There are some studies even show that there can be more benefits if the exercises are more vigorous. Besides walking, you may also go swimming, jogging or even biking. They are all excellent cardio exercises. Of course if you think these are too vigorous, you may still stick to the brisk walking exercises mention previously. The main idea of the exercise is to help to burn fat.

In the study reported in the Journal of the American Heart Association, it is also shown that the chance of having the syndrome will be dropped by 26% if an average man performs the walking exercise everyday. If he is an extremely fit man, the chance of developing the syndrome will be dropped by 50%. On the other hand, the percentages for women, in the same study, are 20% and 63%. From this you will know the importance of cardio exercises.

If the syndrome has developed, the most effective treatment will be changing to a healthy life style. You have to perform exercises, and take less fat. At the end of the day the life style will help you to have a healthier body!
