Make the Most Out of Your Life By Cassidy Williams
There are just some times that you get struck with the shortness of life. You spend around twelve years studying in grade school and high school. Another four years in College, and another four years in post-graduate and before you knew it, your first thirty years in life is over. Then you get a job, you work, and work, and work so you can pay your bills and you can buy the things that you want in life.
Then one day, you might just wake up and found out that your seventieth birthday is fast approaching and you might just feel that your life was spent unworthily and you might look back and say that you have never found your purpose in life.
Life is short - no doubt about it! But simply knowing this fact is not enough. Would you rather wait for your seventieth birthday before you try to look for your purpose in life? The good news is, right now, no matter how old you are and no matter how many experiences you already have, you can actually find your purpose in life.
Begin with the awareness that your life is short and you have to make the most out of your time on earth. Out of this awareness, you will be able to realize that you need to make the most out of life. You can only do that if you will seek deep within yourself and discover your purpose. Be careful though in thinking about the shortness of life as it can plunge you into depression.
Come to think of it, a short life also helps you achieve more and be more efficient in achieving all that you want to achieve. Perhaps, you need to look backward from a vantage point in the future. Try listing down some of the things that you want to accomplish in this life. It maybe as crazy and as impossible as going around the world in 150 days; or perhaps, it may also be something meaningful and cause-driven such as establishing a foundation and helping the needy and the weak. List everything that you want to list down.
When you have done this, you need to prioritize and make a choice regarding these pursuits. A whole lifetime may not be enough to achieve all of those but at least when you have decided which among your list of items are important, you can then move on towards these goals.
