How to Contemplate in the Midst of Your Busy Life By Cassidy Williams
The current speed of life could be likened to a car speeding to 100 miles per hour on the Interstate. It's too fast. It's too furious. Before you can even say "stop", you might go straight to a headlong collision with reality if you do not slow down enough to let you think of your life's purpose and goals.
Why wait for such collision when you can simply lift your foot off the accelerator and put it on the brakes. It is not so bad to stop and pause for a while. In fact, that is very important for you to recover your bearings and re-orient yourself to what you truly want in life.
If you think of meditation as crossing your legs together and reciting some mantra and then being lifted off the floor, then you are badly mistaken. Meditation simply requires that you allot time where you should do nothing but make room for your heart and your inner self to speak. Through this, you can take a look at your own gifts, skills, and abilities and use these towards achieving what you truly want in life.
If you find it difficult to think and meditate in a place where there are so many noise, why don't you spend the weekend off and go to a quiet place - like a park, a church, or a local cafe where you are far from the usual demands on your time. When you are there, you can simply forget about your worries and your fears, even for just a few hours. This way, you can focus completely on listening to your heart and to your inner self.
When you are in your appointed place and time, cast off your cares and your burdens and seek the path that can bring you peace of mind. If you need to talk to yourself in our mind, do so. If you need to list down several questions for you to answer, do it. Redirect astray thoughts to your focus and you will be on your way to rediscovering yourself.
Discover the questions that your heart poses but your mind is unwilling to listen to. Some questions may be difficult to answer. But push on and don't give up. Brave the murky waters of your soul. If you do, you will emerge as a victor and more prepared to deal with the complexities and difficulties of life.
