A Name For Your Baby Is More Than A Name

I will bet that you have bought all the baby name books that you could ever need, plus by taking a look at all of the on-line lists of baby names, you have tried your best.

But the time has come for you to finally name your new baby, and you probably feel fairly happy with your decision about which name you chosen for your baby and have already signed the birth certificate and you have put in your request for a social security card for the baby.

Now you cant wait for the visiting hours so you can tell all of your friends and family about the wonderful name you have selected for your baby and as soon as you do, they all just look at you as if you named your baby, sandwich. Well, what is a parent to do?

So if you choose a name that you think may cause a problem, and you got to options, first, try getting the name out in the open early to give everybody a chance to get used to the idea of it long before the baby is born. Or you can tell them the name in the waiting room, since all moms-to-be should not be put under any kind of stress, the latter choice may be the best one if family tension will be high.

As baby names can be a very touchy subject, but actually the most the only important thing is that the child be healthy, happy, and loved no matter what his or her name is and we shouldnt lose sight of that. Some children are destined to live with names that some people will find funny, some people will be disappointed over that fact, and others may simply hold a grudge or some sort of repressed emotions because of their name, but a name is simply a name. It has nothing to do with who your baby really is and eventually will become in their life with the right love and support from their parents, family and friends.

Now if you are on the outside looking in, and a friend or family member has named their child a name that you dont like please try keeping displeasure to yourself, and try to make use of your own endearing nickname. Baby doll, Peanut, Stinky, Slugger, etc actually just choosing to keep the peace, and showing some love the child can and will probably grow to love the endearment!
