A Special Way to Communicate with Unborn Baby

The only way to keep up with the latest about communication with unborn baby is to stay constantly on the lookout for new information.

You can communicate with your unborn baby by simply talking to him or her with your heart. Most of the time, you do not need to talk out loud. Communication can be carried out using only your thoughts. Therefore, you can do what is called internal communication which is done silently. I believe this method is just as effective to reach out to your child and he or she will be able to understand and receive our message.

At 25 weeks of my second pregnancy, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I found it rather shocking and could not believe it when I heard it from the doctor because I did not take sweet things or non-home-cooked food. In fact, I was looking after my diet conscientiously. It was another blow to me. The anxiety in me grew again. I became restless and agitated. I was worried when the doctor said that I might have a higher chance of giving birth to a diabetic baby. Therefore, I needed to control my diet closely and monitor the sugar level. Can you imagine what it is like to have six finger pricks a day? I was so scared to do it. It was worse and I became frustrated when at times after pricking, the blood did not flow out.

During this period, I was studying prenatal education from my teachers, May Ng and Pamela, who gave me support and emotional assurance. My teachers, mother and husband all supported me. I am forever grateful for that.

Slowly, after I overcame the initial shock reaction, I decided to take charge of my life and my baby and my life again. I closely watched my diet and sugar level. I treated the pain as an experience and to understand what children who suffer from diabetes have to go through every day of their lives. That understanding made a great impact on my life.

My teacher told me to meditate and communicate with my unborn son. Naturally, I whispered or used my heart to talk to him, "Baby, you are strong and healthy." I told my baby this loving message everyday while listening to relaxing music. Finally, things improved and my baby's condition became better. With a good overseeing of my diet, I was free from diabetes after my delivery. The whole experience turned out to be a great blessing.
