Male Liposuction Cases On The Rise

It's amazing but male liposuction or lipoplasty cases are on the rise. Every year more and more men are getting some form of cosmetic surgery done. The fact is the number of plastic surgeries done on men nearly equal to those on women. The only difference is that men's procedures are not as widely reported as women are - a result of the immensely gender specific roles society imposes on both men and women.

Fashion and style centers of the world like Paris, Italy and of course New York is known for their lifestyle as well as the beautifully toned and sculpted beings that saunter on their streets wearing the sexiest outfits. However, such scenario comes with a high tab. It is not just the price you pay for the latest set of heels. The payment comes in the form of physical pain and sky high bills - 'a small prize to pay for beauty' some may say. And it isn't only the female members of New York's jungle that go under the knife. Men too have their share of surgeries.
It has been noted that men don't go for surgeries like breast enhancement only. They tend to enhance some more subtle area like the calves, buttocks and other muscle groups. So, if the regular Joe is not going for butt implants, he is most likely undergoing lipoplasty.
Common Cases Why Men Turn To Lipoplasty
Most of the time men go to plastic surgeons to get lipoplasty with pretty much the same reasons as women do. They may want to decrease the fat on their body, effectively giving them a slimmer waist and a more trimmed look. But sometimes, men turn to plastic surgery for a more severe condition - not life threatening, just potentially embarrassing. What we are talking about is Gynecomastia otherwise known as 'man breasts'.

Gynecomastia often starts out during the teenage years. It does not go beyond the point when it is noticeable, but there are instances that get men and even young teenage boys to contemplate getting this surgery. There is also a form of excess tissue on male breast that is referred to as 'Pseudogynecomastia' or false Gynecomastia.
In both cases men can turn to breast reduction through tissue excision (for profound cases) and plastic surgery. lipoplasty is the easiest surgical treatment for Gynecomastia and needs only a short recovery period. Afterwards, the patient can now claim back his self esteem and get rid of jokes at his expense. As more men are getting conscious of their body, it will be expected that more cosmetic surgery will be done.
